Nicholas Bellefleur
Montreal-based choreographer and interdisciplinary artist, I create immersive experiences that blur the boundaries of the living, artificality and integrity of space and time. My work is rooted in the body: a queer, virtuosic, sensitive, mutant body - traversed by memory, desire, technologies and systems of power.

SACRED DISASTER
2025-26
Artwork by Nicholas Bellefleur, 2025
SACRED DISASTER is a choreographic journey through a sacred collapse. A burnt, erotic, post-apocalyptic world, crossed by sacred geometries, solar dreams and cellular memory. A ritual playground, queer, disordered and vibrant, where eight performers with singular bodies cohabit in an unstable architecture - between bunker and cathedral, ruin and rebirth.
This dance research-creation project is part of a wider exploration of catastrophe as a portal, of chaos as a matrix of transformation.
I'm interested in what emerges when structures collapse, when bodies are crossed by despair and light at the same time. How do you dance from a “black sun”, a subterranean, visceral, solar yet unilluminated force? What happens to the body when its reference points collapse? What choreography emerges from the ashes?
