In 2025-26, capitalism is something we participate in whether we consciously choose to or not. To this day, it remains almost impossible to live outside of it: we live with it, through it, against it. So maybe our power lies in changing how we look at it.
POWER IN AWARENESS. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Our relationship to work shapes far more than our working lives. It shapes our bodies, our time, our relationships, our sense of worth, our desires, and ultimately, the bigger picture we call society. Structures of labour, both around us and within us, can alienate us from the very things that make us human: our capacity to imagine, to relate, to rest, to play, to care, to make meaning.
COWORKER looks at capitalism from the inside out — and sometimes from the other side of the apocalypse. By entering its rituals, reenacting its origins, and speculating on its possible futures, we make the familiar strange again. Because maybe looking directly at the machine is the first step toward imagining what else could exist.
